United States Air Force Software License ManagementThe United States Air Force established the Software Enterprise Acquisition Management and Lifecycle Support (SEAMLS) office to act as the primary interface with all Air Force customers for software licensing and services. This office manages the Microsoft Enterprise Licensing and Service Agreements, the Air Force-wide Oracle Contracts and the DoD Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI).
Through our management of the SEAMLS Project, PTG currently provides IT asset management (ITAM) solutions in the areas of Software License Management, Detailed Reporting, Policy and Procedure Compliance, Financial Management, and Requirements Management for the United States Air Force. Under the SEAMLS contract, PTG provides Software License Reconciliation and Software License Management for Microsoft and Oracle products provided to 800,000+ Air Force users geographically dispersed throughout the United States and around the world.
As a part of this program, PTG provides user helpdesk support, approval of My Oracle Support user applications and development and dissemination of informational documents to users in the field. SEAMLS streamlines every aspect of software licensing and management, allowing the Air Force to more effectively monitor and manage desktop and server software assets while providing the information needed to be compliant. The PTG SEAMLS License Management team collects, analyzes and delivers critical IT asset information to help accurately understand and rigorously manage software licenses. PTG provides the knowledge necessary to significantly reduce unnecessary support cost and negate inappropriate software usage, reconcile acquired licenses with software actually installed, reuse and reallocate software licenses within the organization and maximize ROI through accurate and timely asset inventory.
The SEAMLS program has generated over $98 million in cost avoidance savings for the U.S. Air Force.
