Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

ERP is the practice of consolidating an organization’s planning, financial, human resource, manufacturing, sales and marketing efforts into one management system. ERP systems are the mission-critical backbone through which most business transactions flow.  Besides providing the core transaction processing that large, complex enterprises require ERP, systems are often the launchpad for strategic initiatives.PTG has implemented, upgraded and maintained ERP systems across a wide range of industry sectors and has developed core competencies with leading applications, such as PeopleSoft and SAP.

PTG has extensive experience implementing PeopleSoft and SAP. A partial list of our projects include

  • Public Sector
  • PeopleSoft
    • PTG was involved in the technical side of the implementation. During the course of the project PTG was engaged as the prime to implement the Benefits/Administration and Asset Management 7.0 and 8.x modules. Additional duties included assisting the client in their HRMS upgrade from 7.0 to 8.x.
    • PTG worked directly with the agency to provide functional team-lead services. Our staff was involved in the prototyping of the HRMS functional for the entire agency. Additionally, we have been instrumental in providing leadership in the planning of the agency’s enterprise approach for this implementation. Modules being implemented are HR, Time & Labor and Payroll version 8.
    • PTG was involved in the PeopleSoft 8 implementation of - HRMS - HR, PAYROLL, Base Benefits, Ben-Admin, Pension Admin, where our role involved analysis, design, development, and testing of Modifications, Interfaces, and Reports. Other duties included developing conversion routines using sqr to load employee data into PeopleSoft HR, benefits, and the balances tables. Our staff developed an out bound interface to load job, employment and account code information into Kronos , an in bound interface to load the accrual balances from Kronos into PeopleSoft using sqr. PTG also developed a positive pay interface and account payables interface using sqr. Our technical team provided expertise in the Customization, Addition, Validation and debugging of PeopleCode according to the changed functional requests. Developed new panels, records and PeopleCode for maintaining the longevity dates of employee’s as per the user requirements.
    • PTG assisted in the Implementation of Peoplesoft and provided technical expertise in most of the implementation; our responsibilities were Human Resource, Time and Labor, and Payroll version 8 modules
  • SAP
    • PTG partnered with Deloitte Consulting in conducting the implementation of SAP solutions for the ninth largest city in the United States. PTG and Deloitte are implementing mySAP.com as the platform for the city’s e-government initiatives, including customer relationship management (CRM), e-procurement, portals, human resources, and financials. The specific SAP modules being deployed for SAP modules for COSA’s ERM project includes:

    • Provide functional and technical expertise in the implementation of SAP Financials, Procurement, HR and Payroll to the fourth largest city in the United States. Our responsibilities included the lead in the overall integration and conversion processes for all modules. Our team was instrumental in the designing, blueprinting, complete module configurations, application and system documentation for Asset Accounting, Personnel Administration Organizational Management, Personnel Development and Recruiting.

  • K – 12
    PTG was involved in the upgrade and deployment of PeopleSoft HRMS applications from version 7.51 to 8.8 for the seventh-largest school district in the United States. The modules being upgraded include: Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Labor with plans to implement PeopleSoft’s collaborative applications including eRecruit, eRecruit Managers Desktop, and Resume Processing. The upgrade is running on Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 database engine. PTG is providing both expert-level technical expertise and consultants with significant implementation experience.

  • Medical
    PTG was involved in the design and implementation of PeopleSoft 8 Human Resources, Financials, Materials Management, and Self Service for the nations fifth largest public metropolitan health system.

  • Corporate
    PTG assisted the client in the re-implement PeopleSoft HR and Financials. Due to the high number of modifications in the original implementation of PeopleSoft. The modules being implemented are Benefits Administration and Payroll version 8.3.

  • Higher Education
    • PTG was involved in the upgrade and deployment of PeopleSoft HRMS applications version 8.8 for the largest community college system on the Texas Gulf coast. The modules being upgraded included:  Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefits. PTG was also involved in the upgrade of PeopleSoft Financials and Student Admin. PTG provided both expert-level technical expertise and consultants with significant implementation/upgrade experience.
    • PTG has provided the client with Senior and Architect level consulting services with responsibilities for both technical and functional guidance and development. PTG’s onsite team led many of the Fit/Gap sessions and provided hands-on guidance and leadership in initial system setup and configuration for a major academic health center.
      Examples of which include Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Security, and eRecruit modules. Additionally PTG has developed detailed project documentation, identified customization requirements, and gathered specifications for the implementation of PeopleSoft HCM while providing substantial knowledge transfer on the implementation and use of PeopleSoft.  PTG’s analysts have worked closely with the client’s PeopleSoft technical team to resolve issues with overall architecture, technical specifications, and identifying issues with the current system configuration. Further work included providing business proven solutions for specific issues, Leading hands on demonstrations of PeopleSoft Technology (Integration Broker, Component Interface, PeopleCode, etc.), and development custom processes and solutions, including on-line and batch applications.
       
  • Telecommunications
    PTG provided support for an Accounts Receivable application. Worked with the user community to understand the business problems and provide business solutions utilizing SAP Industry Standard Solutions. Deliverables include process design and implementation of standards and controls for the credit and collection business functions. Responsibilities include gap analysis, process re-engineering, workflow analysis and system requirements development.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
CRM is an area of ERP that is quickly becoming a critical part of an organization’s business strategy. CRM integrates the marketing, sales and service functions into one application for the enterprise. In order to remain competitive, many organizations are integrating a CRM solution into their business operations.

    Telecommunications
    PTG replaced regionally based customer support systems across the United States and interface with the current billing systems. The PeopleSoft system integration included involvement with all phases of the project life cycle including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and implementing the application from both a functional and technical perspective. This included developing customer functionality will includes the configuration and development of PeopleSoft to support customer self-help capabilities. In addition, the project includes making sure the CRM system integrated existing technical support tools into the platform. The project involved partnering with client IT teams in various parts of the US. The end result of the project will be national customer support system integrated into PeopleSoft's CRM platform.
